june 24, 2010. i’m inspired. once again, british transport has swept me off my feet and left me with my head in the clouds. (does anybody else has an odd attachment and interest in public transportation?) i was hit with an idea for a series of screen prints halfway through my work day and i couldn’t concentrate for anything after that. all i wanted to do was get home and spend hours fiddling around in illustrator and looking through the automobile association’s road book of england and wales, revised edition, 1962.

this vintage gem of a book (gifted to me a few years ago from a friend who understands and accepts my love of england and maps) offers a gazetteer, itineraries, maps, and town plans. over the years, i’ve spent hours poring through the pages, one-by-one, dreaming of traveling to places such as ingleby greenhow, puddletown, buttertubs pass, and norton-juxta-twycross, which is,¬†incidentally, also known as hogsnorton.
